Great Fries

Go figure...I found what I believe are the best french fries at New Stars Vegetarian Restaurant. You can read my take on New Stars in the Eating Out forum. Anyhow, a real potato is sliced, breaded and fried producing a nice little snap on the outside but soft inside. You can order it as garlic fries as well.

This is a straight up Vegetarian restaurant serving true Vegans by providing many of their dishes with organic ingredients.

Love the french fries at In n Out, Red Robin does some pretty great steak fries, gotta agree with Cherokee here! We ate at Doghouse a couple of weeks ago, was underimpressed. We had been here a couple of times before, we make better ribs at home, we have had some baby backs soaking for a couple of days in 7-Up, this makes them really good. :)

Healthy food

I haven't seen all the 7 food search topics, but I do remember ice cream treats, malts or shakes, steak and now French fries. What is truly hard to find in Fresno is quick, inexpensive healthful food. Where can you get a fast lunch containing palatable fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats in the $5 price range? That would be a real find!

Great French Fries

The Doghouse Grill - 2789 W. Shaw (across from the Save Mart Center)

Excellent, cheap, and you get a ton of fries in a basket. I've never been able to finish one order - you get that much. Also, they taste great with a tall, ice-cold brew. You'll get good grub here, too. My personal favorites are the Tri-Tip Taco and the Pulled-Pork Sandwich. Two (greasy) thumbs up!!
