Great Chinese

Two Chinese food places that I am found of are Imperial Gardens and Golden Star.

Imperial Gardens (6640 N. Blackstone) is great for Dim Sum. You can order it any day off a menu, but if your not sure what each item is, show up Sunday when it is carted around by the servers. I really enjoy their Char Siu Bao (steamed BBQ pork bun) and Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf.

Golden Star (1140 N. Chestnut) is a real hole-in-the-wall. But if you can get past that, you will enjoy the food very much. Their Hot and Sour soup is one of my favorites and the Beef Chow Fun is another one.

China Chop Suey

For great Chinese food, try China Chop Suey on the SW corner of Blackstone & McKinley. We always have the lettuce wraps. Other things to try are:

  • fish w/black beans & tofu
  • black bean clams
  • fried pork chop w/chili peppers
  • any of their "clay pot" dishes
  • One other thing...you will need to ask for the Chinese menu which has all of the more authentic family style dishes.

    Hunan's on Cedar and Herndon

Has anyone dined here lately? They supposedly have a wonderful chef in there right now. :)
